Software Installation
Double-click on the SMSetup file to start the installation. This will open a dialog box such as the one shown below:
Note that you can install the software either for all users or the current user. We recommend installing the software for all users. The installer will display that it is genuine and signed by the company Rapid Sigma Solutions LLP. Click on the next button to continue. This will display the following dialog box which will show you the version of the software that is being installed on your computer.
Click on the Next button and accept the license agreement:
Select the location where you want to install the software. If you are installing as an admin user, the following is the default location of the software:
Select the folder where you want to install the software and then click the Next button.
It will ask you to select the components you want to install. You can perform a full installation where both the Sigma Magic software and the R software will be downloaded and installed on your computer. Click on the Next button to continue. Here, you will be asked to select a few optional settings.
- Do you want the user to register? If you select this checkbox, then the user will be asked to register their copy of the software. During registration, the user will need to enter the following details:
- User Name
- Email Address
- Company Name
- Country
- Select the checkbox to indicate if you want to add icons to the desktop. By having the icon on the desktop, you can double-click it to launch both Excel and Sigma Magic software.
- Select the checkbox to indicate if you want to add menus to the Start Menu. The menus that are added include instructions on how to open, uninstall, and upgrade the software.
- Specify if you want to launch the Excel application on completion of the install.
Click Next to view a summary of the installation, and then click the Install button to complete the installation. The software should now be installed on your computer. Open the Excel software to check if you can see the Sigma Magic button on the main menu bar. Click on this button to load the Sigma Magic software. You should see a menu bar as shown in the figure below.
This completes the software installation.
Note that if the installer cannot locate Microsoft Excel at its standard location on your computer, it may display an error message stating that it cannot find Excel, which prevents the Sigma Magic software from being installed correctly. In this case, you will need to specify the location of the Add-In in Microsoft Excel manually.
