Kaizen Report Example

Problem Statement

Create a Kaizen report out for an improvement that you have made in your process.

How to perform Analysis

Step 1: Open Sigma Magic
  1. Click on the Sigma Magic button on the Excel toolbar.
  2. Click on the New button to create a new project.
Step 2: Add the analysis template
  1. Click on the Tool Wizard to add the analysis template.
  2. Click on Lean and then Kaizen Report.


Step 3: Specify analysis options
A new worksheet will be added to your workbook. Click Analysis Setup and then click on the Checklist button, you will see the following dialog box. Ensure that the items mentioned in checklist should be marked.



Step 4: Enter the worksheet data

Click Create button  to save changes and update your analysis results. Enter the following information on the Kaizen Report worksheet. A sample screenshot of the worksheet is shown below.




Step 5: Generate analysis result
Click on Verify tab to ensure all the inputs are okay and shown in a green checkmark.



Click OK to close the dialog box.

Interpreting Results

  1. Clothes are constantly getting mixed up, and there is no FIFO or order in the process. This implies that clothes are not being organized properly and possibly inefficiently.
  2. It depicts an unorganized way of arranging clothes with various colors and styles intermixed. This graphical illustration can further explain the problem better.
  3. The proposed solution is to color-code the clothes and store them in the input area in a specific order. This will help in organizing and streamlining the process.
  4. It shows a more organized arrangement of clothes, with colors grouped together and likely following a specific order. This visual representation helps to visualize the potential benefits of the proposed solution.
  5. This is the report: The solution was implemented on January 2, 2023, and was approved by Peter on December 15, 2020. From this report, it indicates that the implementation took place after the approval date.
