You can save your projects in Excel workbooks. Click the New button on the main menu bar to start a new project.
This will open a new Excel workbook with two specific worksheets. The first is the summary worksheet, which contains a summary of all the analyses stored in this workbook; the second is a data sheet worksheet, which can be used to store all the data used in the project. The figure below shows a new project workbook with the two worksheets.

By default, the project workbook is opened as a Project#.xlsx file. Note that this project file does not contain any macros stored in them. You can change the optional setting to open the project as a macro-enabled workbook, such as Project#.xlsm. This file can contain macros. To change this setting, click Options > General Settings > Project Files. You can specify whether you want to work with the default *.xlsx files or macro-enabled *.xlsm files.
If you specify macro-enabled files, it contains two functions added to the project file:
- Close all dialog boxes before closing the file
- Change the menu bar at the top depending on which worksheet is currently active
These functions can make it simpler to work with Sigma Magic project files. However, if you don't want to work with macro-enabled files, you can perform these actions manually using the following buttons. Use the Close button to safely close a Sigma Magic project file by closing any open dialog boxes, and use the Refresh button on the right to refresh the menu bar if you change the Sigma Magic worksheet.
